The Helio is an elegant and stylish Five-star cruise vessel that has echoes of Agatha Christie and Art Noveau 1930’s style.  The interior decor of Helio carries a certain air of elegance and superior class which is reflected throughout the entire ship. Split over Five-main deck levels with separate Bridge sun deck deck and Upper sun deck, the Helio carries travellers in supreme comfort, elegance and ease.  The dining room can accommodate all guests in a single serving and you can enjoy buffet style meals with stunning Nile views through panoramic windows.  Enjoy a refreshing dip in the pool on the Bridge deck conveniently close to the large bar and lounge where nightly folkloric shows including belly dancing and music performances are held for your entertainment. The Helio is the perfect elegant, relaxing, secure and comfortable base to which you can return after exploring the ancient wonders of Pharaonic Egypt

Accommodation is on full-board basis with a daily tea time service that includes snacks and cakes. The Helio maintains an air of exclusivity with 50 well appointed cabins, each 16.40 m².  The upper deck of the ship features 12 cabins, the main deck has 20 cabins and the lower Nile deck houses the remaining 18 double cabins.

Cabins have large panoramic windows overlooking the Nile. A full laundry service is available and every cabin is fully air conditioned (individually controlled).  Cabins are equipped with:

  • Private W/C, shower and hairdryer.
  • Satellite TV (while docking) and music system.
  • Safe for storing valuables
  • Mini bar/fridge

Dining & Leisure Facilities
The Helio presents dining in style in the elegantly appointed main restaurant that can accommodate all guests in one sitting.  Guests can enjoy spectacular regional and international buffet dining with stunning views of the Nile from the restaurant’s panoramic windows.  The spacious lounge features elegant seating and a bar serving fine beers,  wines and cocktails or indulge yourself by the pool bar sipping refreshing drinks while admiring the view or working out with the fitness equipment.

The swimming pool and pool bar are located on the double-level Bridge/Sun deck and you’ll find parasols and deck chairs for your comfort and relaxation.  A gift shop on board will supply souvenirs or you can indulge yourself in the beauty salon (open twice weekly when visiting Luxor and Aswan).  Keep in touch with home through the chargeable international telephone and fax services or spend the night enjoying regular folkloric dance and music performances held in the lounge

The Helio cruises between Luxor and Aswan.
Typical cruises are 7 night/8 day and 4 night/5 day programmes consisting of:
Day 1.  Check in and overnight on board the Helio.
Day 2.  Visit the Temples of Karnak and Luxor.  Sail on to Edfu via Esna and overnight on board.
Day 3.  Sail to Edfu and visit the Temple of Horus Temple.  Sail on to Kom Ombo and overnight on board.
Day 4. Sail to Aswan.  Visit the High Dam, unfinished Obelisque and Philae Temple. Overnight on board in Aswan.
Day 5.  Optional visit to the Temples of Abu Simbel (charged extra) in the morning. Afternoon trip to the Botanical Gardens in Felucca.  Overnight on board in Aswan.
Day 6.  Early departure, sailing to Kom Ombo.  Visit the Sobek Temple then sail on to Edfu before steaming on to Luxor via Esna.
Day 7. Visit the West Bank of Luxor and the ancient monuments of Thebes.  In the afternoon, your time is yours to spend at leisure before overnighting on board at Luxor.
Day 8.  Check out.
The 4 night/5 day cruise programme sailing from Luxor to Aswan would normally consist of:
Day 1.  Check in before lunch.  Visit Temples of Karnak and Luxor and overnight on board at Luxor.
Day 2.  Visit the West bank then sail to Edfu via Esna.  Overnight on board.
Day 3. Sail to Edfu and visit the Temple of Horus.  Sail on to Kom Ombo and visit Sobek temple. Overnight on board.
